What does a horse look like as a baby?

Are they small like puppies or are they bigger.

They're about the size of a calf or fawn.

Foals are usually a lot bigger than a puppy.

They're bigger and lankier. I think that googling it would be a worthwhile investment.

The size depends on the breed.  A mini horse is the size of a large dog, so would give birth to a foal the size of a puppy.  A draft horse is huge and gives birth to a foal the size of an adult Great Dane.

A foal size is in proportion to the mare.

At the attached link is a photo of a vet checking a new foal. It gives an indication of average size. Much larger yhan a puppy just ss a horse is much larger than a dog.

    Bigger than puppies.

Oh if only there were a way to type "baby horse photo" into your favorite search engine...wouldn't that be wonderful?   Someone should get right on that.
