No - dunks can change the momentum in a game, and exciting for the fans.

No.  A huge part of the reason basketball is so popular is it's a game everybody can play pretty much anywhere.  You raise the goal a foot, you lose that accessibility because the game becomes too difficult for middle school and high school kids, for everyday people.

If you just raise it for the NBA, then the game they play in the NBA isn't the game everyone else plays, and isn't the game all the players learned growing up, meaning people don't relate to it as well and all that muscle memory players acquired playing it all their lives goes to waste.

Also, it wouldn't do away with the dunk, just make the dunk less common.  There would still be players who could dunk.  If anyone wants to get rid of the dunk, how to do that isn't by raising the goal but making a rule that dunking is illegal, but why anyone would want to make that rule a rule, I have no idea.  Who doesn't like to see that?  Nobody.  Players like it.  Fans like it.
