    Germany, obviously.

After Mussolini was captured, Italy gave up and turned traitor against the Reich. They didn't have a strong enough military to hold their own against the Allies and ended up piggybacking on the Allies to defeat their one-time "friend".

Germany, no doubt. Italy was militarily a burden for the Germans. The Italians could not even beat the Greeks.

Quite obviously, Germany.  Any who might answer to the contrary have their heads jammed so far up their anuses that it may never feel the warmth of the sun again.

While Italy had a larger navy, most of its ships were obsolete or obsolescent, & lacked radar.  The German army & air force were vastly larger & had far superior equipment.

Some ill-informed here doenèt seem to understand that while the Italian monarchy & central gov't threw in with the Allies, about as many Italian Fascists continued to fight along with the Germans to the end of the war.  A certain "John" has a very distorted view of Germany vis-a-vis the U.S.S.R. (NOT "Russia").  Absent the immense Western aid, the U.S.S.R. would have collapsed by the end of 1942.

Italy proved how "tough" they were by invading Ethiopia...which is kind of like beating up a scarecrow, then bragging about being the heavyweight champ.

Italy was stronger. Italy ended up on the winning side by switching, and lost less. So Italy was stronger.

The Italians also didn't become Russia's literal b*tch, like Germany did. Germany took it hard from behind by Russia.

Well, they both lost. So there’s that. But Italy did end up changing sides in the end, so maybe Italy?
