Best way to get a coin professionally graded? ?
I wanted to get a coin graded and it seemed like such a hassle... NGC forces you to become a member if you want a coin graded but are there other alternatives that aren’t so complicated?

You can go to a coin dealer who, if they are a member of NGC or PCGS can send the coin to be graded for you, they may however charge you a fee for doing so, and you can also get a friend who is a member and have them send it in for you.
You can also try other coin grading services, like ICG or ANACS, but it should be noted that a high grade coin from either of those two won't bring as high of a price as one graded by NGC or PCGS, although that's not an issue if you don't intend to sell the coin.

Find out when The Antiques Roadshow is coming on its tour near you and take it there. You'll have to wait for hours in line, but it'll be free and as correct as you're ever going to find.
