Chevrolet Volt discontinuing parts?

I've been thinking about buying a Chevy Volt but since they're discontinuing them, would that be unwise? My concern lies with replacement parts. Does anyone know if parts will still be available for the years to come? I don't want to pay a hefty premium if they become a scarcity. Thanks

Generally, manufacturers try to offer spare parts for discontinued cars for at least ten years.

You can still get parts for Saturns, for instance.

Contact the parts department at any Chevy dealer and ask them how long Chevrolet plans to offer parts for a Volt.

Car manufacturers must supply parts for their cars for 7 years from the date they are produced.
