we called it Gap wedge these days.  because it is a gap between a pitching wedge and a sand wedge.    for example your sand wedge is a club for 80 yards.  your pitching wedge is for 120 yards.   A gap wedge is a club for 100 yards.

the loft can be between 48 to 52 depending on the company who made the iron set.  For example, Taylormade made an iron set between 4 to PW.   The Pitching wedge's loft is about 43.5 degree.   The loft of the gap wedge or attack wedge should be around 49 degree.
