Are you sure it's not going to "sleep" (hibernating)?

Verify that all fans are working. Replace those that don't. If that doesn't work, Disable hibernate mode. If that still does not work, prevent your computer from sleeping.

You might have a lot of "Background" software running or it could be anything, I favour Malware,
Have a computer TECH check it out.
Fix-me-stick is useless in my experience.
And Anti-virus/malware only detects, and protects from Known programs.

most likely a failing hard drive. ~$100 part cost easy to change out on most computers. although i'd try restoring the computer to factory settings before installing new parts. and before trying a factory restore, i'd press ctrl+alt+delete (on windows) open the task manager and look through running processes for anything consuming more resources than it should or that is listed as "not responding".
