Why does it seem that whenever a person gets killed by a family member, they have a large life insurance policy?

I plan on not getting a life insurance policy so that those around me don't have an incentive in my death.

You've been watching too many episodes of Columbo.

The idea of a life insurance policy is to protect your dependents in the event of your death.  Your far more likely to die unexpectedly than to be murdered by your family (which voids the policy anyway).

Its not as prevalent as you think...those stories are just more likely to make the news because of the intrigue.

When you don't trust your family, that's the best thing to do. Make sure to give them a heads up - tell them all that you have zero life insurance, so to not bother murdering you.

Ok... that is your personal business and still not a question that needs answering.

Very lucky for them isn't it?

"Whenever?"  Do you have more than one example?

Why would you kill a family member if their life insurance is only $100. Much better to keep them alive since they can contribute.

It never seems like that. You're a moron.  Nobody collects life insurance if there is even a hint that the death was caused by such person.

You've got some very selective vision going on.

People are often killed by a family member and it is rarely because of insurance money.
