Medicare for all would almost double federal spending.

Probably quite a bit initially.  The goal of these programs tends to be what they will save in the long term.  For example, obviously if tens of millions of people suddenly have insurance they will take advantage of it and the expense would be great.  But in another generation, thanks to people being able to see a GP regularly, overall healthcare costs would be reduced as there'd be less emergency room visits.

The same goes for college.  The first wave of students will cost a great deal, but in turn those students will become tax paying adults with more income to feed back into the pot.

Lets do this by putting our tax code BACK WHERE IT WAS BEFORE THE REPUBLICANS GOT INTO OFFICE and start making the wealthiest 1% pay their fair share?

Yeah, that will work just fine!

What is their fair share? The top 1% already pay 40% of the taxes while 45% of people pay no taxes

Shouldn’t those people be paying  their fair share

For education, you would have to look at states that provide tuition free college/university to see.  NM does it with the state lottery.
