when and why did African Americans move to places like Kansas City, and elsewhere in the USA?
outside of the "South"? as that is where most were brought to by slave traders? "The South" included mainly the Southeastern states? (including Texas?)
why when went to cities like Kansas City? (as noticed they have a lot of African Americans now?)

There have always been black people living outside the South. The start of American slavery is usually dated to IIRC 1619 when records show that a ship appeared in Jamestown and sold IIRC 20 slaves to the people there. But slaves were being brought into other parts of the country as early as the 1620s. While most African Americans prior to the 20th century lived in the South, there have always been black people in The North and other parts of the country. Remember that slavery was legal in all parts of what would become the US until after the Revolution. There were always black people, and black communities, in the North.
What you're probably asking about, though, is what's known as the Great Migration. This was a movement of African Americans out of the South in the early 20th century. Facing increasing discrimination in the South, African Americans, buoyed in part by rising wages and new mobility options like the car, began moving North in unprecedented numbers. While racism was a "push factor" driving them to leave the South, the booming industrial economy of Northern cities (where most of them settled) was a "pull factor", making settlement in the North attractive.

The south fought a war around slavery. After they lost the war which freed the slaves, their racism continued. African Americans moved north to escape the oppression.

Why would an American (true) ask this?🤔
My hypothesis is you are not American and scoping out demographic patterns for nefarious purposes......
Sorta of what I do. But my purpose is to inform even at the risk of revealing.....
So what exactly is the purpose of these questions?🤔
They moved up north and out west for a better life and better opportunity. Common knowledge for AMERICANS....🤔
Since most were mobile during those times.
