About 12 hours. However, (non-psychoactive) metabolites from the THC can be detected in your body for days after first smoking and for weeks after regular smoking. In heavy users, the metabolites can be detected for even longer. The metabolites are what show up in drug tests, not THC. A blood test is required to test for THC and that is not often done.

For an occasional user, THC has a plasma half-life of about thirty-one hours, but for a habitual user this lengthens to up to a fortnight. You should also bear in mind that this is only the time it takes for the level in the plasma to halve, not for the compound to disappear completely.
