Why are Jews the most despised group in history?

Is there something about them or did everyone take a disliking to them for no good reason?

Maybe selling out the Christian Messiah to the Romans might have something to do with it.

They have been a convenient scapegoat for centuries and sadly it seems that this remains the case although to an extent Muslims are coming in for some abuse. Fear of the 'Other' is often used as a political tool and of course there are idiots who subscribe to that view.

    1. Anti-Semitism is an irrational fear or hatred of the Jewish people. Its origins date back to ancient and medieval times.

    2. In ancient Greece and Rome, Jews were targeted and persecuted for their social and cultural differences.

    3. The development of Christianity gave rise to theological divisions and the accusation that Jews had killed Christ.

    4. During the Middle Ages, Jews became convenient scapegoats and were blamed for a range of problems or disasters.

    5. Though they caused less violence and abject persecution, these anti-Semitic ideas survived into the modern world.

I don't think that's true, they weren't dragged across the Atlantic to work in sugar plantations, they were driving the boats

I think a lot of it has to do with how the Jews stick together.   However, asd a non Jew, I found that once you make a friend of a Jewish person, they really accept you.

Perhaps some of it is envy or even fear.
