Has the smith&wesson shield been discontinued?

    The shield is one of their best selling models, I highly doubt they would discontinue it.

    They updated it a couple years ago as the shield 2.0 with a few new features and a wider variety of options you can get from the factory.

    So in some sense you could say that the original shield is discontinued, but that would be like saying that Ford discontinued the F150 because they stopped making 2019 models and switched to 2020 models.

      It  is simply another Glock copy, and I do not like Glocks. One major problem with the "Shield" is that it cab be fired without a magazine. Even some cheap junk pistols have the magazine disconnector safety.

    Yes and no. They no longer produce the Shield. They produce the Shield 2.0 now.

    No, still in production with several models and calibers.
