Who should the detroit lions draft with the 3rd pick?

If the Lions keep the 3rd pick, they will be drafting Tua Tagovailoa to be the heir apparent to Matt Stafford. They could also trade down to get more picks, and let someone else draft Tua. Either way, Tua is going to be taken with the 3rd pick.

Plan A should be to try to leverage a trade down. If Tua's medical comes back okay there are three EPIC prospects in this draft (Burrow, Young, and Tua). That means Detroit could try to find a team to trade-rape.
If no deal is forthcoming, they should just take whichever of those three prospects is left. Stafford has never really been as good as his reputation, and is getting older. They could draft his replacement and then put him on the trade block to try to leverage even more draft capital.

This may sound cliche, but "get the best player on the board". At third pick, there should be a handful of respected options. These include tough to find prospects at edge rusher, blue chip O-line, choice wide receivers, or an inside linebacker that can cover.

Stafford has zero division titles and zero playoff wins. You have to move on from him.
