With the beginning of the 21st century, do you think courses in Western Civilization should be replaced with World Civilization?

Many colleges and universities from decades ago have required a course in Western Civilization.

Western civilization is still vastly different from non-Western civilization, so I would say no.

Worldwide civilizations would be far too broad a topic to cover in a semester - or two - even as a freshman intro course. Furthermore, professors with the background to teach Western Civilization likely wouldn't have the background to cover, say, Asian civilizations as well. Better to have course in Western Civilization, another in Asian Civilization or Asian History, etc.

At my college, both courses were offered.

No really.  By the way, I had World History in Grade 9.
