No. He needs to speak to you. If you keep not answering he keeps on knocking.

comment is NONSENSE...it is perfectly acceptable to knock on a door in a non emergency.  knocking does NOT mean be can enter.. AND SINCE HE DIDN'T WHAT ARE YOU WHINING ABOUT?

Rather depends on whether there's something you've asked to get fixed (in which case he's just trying to do his job)

It depends on WHY they are knocking. If there is a legitimate reason & you keep ignoring them then it is not harassment.  If that is the case then you need to grow up, stop playing games & answer the fekin door.

If there is not a legitimate maintenance issue that needs attention then it could be seen as harassment. Report it to the manager.

" You don't knock on somebodys door for maintenance unless its an emergency " WRONG!!!! There are plenty of other non emergency reasons for maintenance to be needing to make contact with you.

No.  The knocking is the announcement asking for permission.   If you don't want to answer, don't.

If he really needs to get in your apartment, he can give you the required notice and then enter whether you like it or not.

seems like some people need an ambulance for a serious thumb problem....

in my state, there needs to be INTENT. if he has a legit reason to knock...no....it is not harassment

was actually a court case, divorced parents, father called mother daily about an issue with daughter. mother ignored it and charged ex with harassment. court found it was a legit reason to call, mother had a duty to respond...and it was not harassment....just like you have a duty to respond to maintenance and see what the issue is.

so if there is a maintenance issue, guy can knock until it is resolved.

Not if it's part of a continuing job for which you were properly notified. Other than that yes it is harassment.

It depends if the maintenance man has been told to do some maintenance on the property you are renting, i.e. he has a legitimate reason for doing so.
