They want the 2 points for answering the question. That is all they want. If the answer makes no attempt to answer the question that was asked, it should be reported for point gaming.

A lot of people answer the header question without clicking on it and reading the full background to the question.

There was a good example of this the other day. The header question said something like 'What is writing?' and half a dozen people duly explained what writing was for.

Had they clicked on the question they would have seen it was from a non-native speaker whose question REALLY was about what the specific Arabic writing meant on a photo he'd posted below.

Yes, he was at fault for failing to phrase the question properly, but the people who failed to click and see the WHOLE question were at fault too.

  • They answer questions because they are bored in their life.   No meaning for them except here is a different world for them.  Points mean nothing anymore here.  Also keep in mind trying to answer and given a wrong answer is not a violation.

On occasion, what I read is not what the question asked. More often, the question is not clear on what it is asking.  Then you have the basic communication issue, where the question means one thing to the one asking, but something different to those who answer.

Your question suggests people answering questions without "understanding the question", answer the question after taking it seriously enough to at least try and give it a valid answer. Trolls exist, casting doubt on all questions asked. Trolls enjoy being a burden everywhere they go, it's what gives their otherwise dark and lonely lives meaning.
