Who says they want to immigrate with PR to eventually obtain citizenship in Canada? IF they ever want to immigrate there, Megan fully qualifies to apply for immigration as an artiste of international renown based on her work record as an actress, including many years working in Canada (Suits was filmed there.) She can bring in spouse & child, no problem.

Prince Harry, who is very wealthy in his own right, and has extensive experience as officer, director of many charitable organizations has the business expertise if he (and/or Megan) ever wants to start a business in Canada. He would easily qualify for investor visa (in US, Canada, anywhere). So that's the most obvious option, and he may have others.

Whatever they decide to do, wherever they decide to go, they have an interesting array of options! No problem wherever they want to go. They'll make it, just fine.

I don't think a man whose grandmother is at the top of the Commonwealth will have trouble gaining residency in a Commonwealth nation.

Prince Harry will not get any special consideration, must meet requirements same as anyone else, but neither Prince Harry nor Meghan will have the slightest problem qualifying somehow.

Hahaha! What is this world coming to when one of the royals has to take that kind of guff?

It appears the viewpoint expressed is Royals are above scrutiny.

I suspect that despite the snarky comments from a certain part of the media in Canada they will have no problems living in Canada permanently.

Nope.  They are rich enough to qualify for the investment class.

Neither of them would qualify for work visas unless they're actually working in the jobs pertinent to their skill sets (she an actor and he a helicopter pilot). One suspects they're relying on some reciprocal intra former Commonwealth favor of a sort to obtain residency in Canada. Doesn't sound like Canada's having that though. Interesting.

    • Not 'former Commonwealth', Canada is IN the Commonwealth.  The real issue will be about who pays for their protection.  Do they even need protecting?

Of course he requires a visa, in exactly the same way as she required a visa to live in the UK...but what is your question

LOL. He's only worth about 40 million dollars, I don't think he'll be a burden on the state.
