Let's take for example this person: they have the talent to sing, yet he/she is not breaking into the music business. Why?

There can be many reasons. Here's just one:

The responsibilities of being a parent. My nephew, who has a great singing voice and plays guitar, works two jobs to support his daughters (who both have beautiful singing voices, and one is already writing songs at 14).  He just can't spare the time.  He sent in a demo tape to 'The Voice' and received a reply from Adam Levine (or, more likely, a rep for Levine) and strongly encouraged to do one of the live auditions. He got a second contact giving him the date and time and procedure for going to the nearest audition, in Philadelphia, and my nephew didn't go. He couldn't arrange for the time off from work. He doesn't feel he can justify pursuing any sort of musical ambitions at this time. Instead, he is helping and encouraging his girls.

Who determined that they have the talent to sing? It may be they're not interested in the music business. Everyone who can sing is not interested in becoming a star. There may be several reasons for their lack of interest in show business.

There's not just one possible answer. It depends on this specific person/case/circumstances. One possibility is that they can sing well, but the lyrics and/or instrumentals are not appealing to many people.

WHO is telling them than they have talent?  Gramma? Themselves?  Or is this just another delusional wannabe?  You?

He or she ("He/she is something totally different.) may want to eat on a regular basis.

I know of people that actually made it big and quit. Ever heard of Steve Perry?

Do a year on the road. It's not all drink drugs and tuna factories.

Maybe they don't want to.  Nothing wrong with that.

No, they do want to, but despite their best efforts, they just aren't having a successful career. Why?
