    x = ).126(0.10 - 2x)

    x = 0.0126 - 0.252x

    x + 0.252x = 0.0126

    x(1 + 0.252) = 0.0126

    x(1.252) = 0.0126

    x = 0.0126/1.252

    x = 0.010063897....

    Multiply both sides by the denominator:

    0.126(0.10 - 2x) = x

    Distribute:

    0.0126 - 0.252x = x

    Add 0.252x to both sides:

    0.0126 = x + 0.252x

    0.0126 = 1.252x

    Divide both sides by 1.252

    x = 0.0126/1.252

    x = 126/12520

    x = 63/6260

    Or:

    x ≈ 0.01006389776

    0.126 = x/(0.10 - 2x)

    0.126 (0.10 - 2x) = x

    0.0126 - 0.252x = x

    1.252 x = 0.0126

    12520 x = 126

    x = 0.01006389776

    You have:

    0.126 = x / (0.1 - 2x)

    The first thing to determine is which value of "x" cannot be if it results in you dividing by zero.  So let's do that first:

    0.1 - 2x = 0

    0.1 = 2x

    0.05 = x

    Now that we have this, the first thing we need to do is multiply both sides by the denominator:

    0.126 = x / (0.1 - 2x)

    0.126(0.1 - 2x) = x

    Distribute on the left side:

    0.0126 - 0.252x = x

    Add 0.252x to both sides:

    0.0126 = 1.252x

    Divide both sides by 1.252:

    0.0126 / 1.252 = x

    To simplify, start by multiplying both halves by 10,000 to get rid of the decimal point:

    x = 126 / 12520

    and reduce:

    x = 63/6260

    That's the exact answer, which is approx:

    0.01006 when rounding to 5 DP.
