A neighboring village. The Bible is the history of the Jewish people. Adam and Eve were the first Hebrews, not the first humans.

"Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch."  Note the bible doesn't say she came from Nod, but bore Enoch there.  And Cain built a city and named it after his son and the city grew with the dependents of Cain.

You're assuming that the only humans on the planet were descendants of Adam.  But science has proven there were several species of humans.  They were all human but they were not us.  For instance, we're Homo Sapiens but there were also Neanderthals.  They could interbreed and many of us carry neanderthal markers in our DNA to this day.    Cain's wife was probably another strain of human.

And this has nothing to do with politics so please move it to the proper category.  Perhaps Religion.

There's a whole lot of unexplained breeding left out of the Bible. Most likely there was a state of Kentucky back then.
