    it is stereotyping, at least that's what we used to call it (in the 70s)

    It seems to be done more than when I was young. Maybe that is the way that human beings naturally respond to an increasingly diverse society, in order to try to make sense of that society.

    We don't HAVE to, we simply do. We do it because it's easier than examining things on an individual basis.
