Do you think asians are thin because their diet is so low in fat?

No. It's not "low in fat", but it is "low in meat". Also, people in Asia (not just East Asia) tend to walk significantly more than North Americans or Northern Europeans. None of this "I'll just get in my car and drive one block to the store to buy some milk" stuff - they'll WALK.)

Fire place is right about portions but asian cultures prioritizes that being thin is attractive, even thinner than in the West and they face much more societal pressure!

No, it's because they do not eat the enormous portions that North Americans do.

Their typical diet and their activity level contribute to there being far fewer overweight people in Asian countries than in the US. They often start a meal with a broth based soup (or have it as a meal), and their diet is 3:1 ratio of vegetables to meat (and much of their meat is fish/seafood). Additionally, they tend to eat far smaller portions than we do here in the US, and they tend to eat healthier snacks.
