    It's the same word whether it's a prince or a goat-herd. If a crown is placed on your head and you become king, the person has been 'crowned' and the ceremony is called a 'coronation'.

    You can look up videos of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. Coronation is the crowning of a princess to be queen, or of a prince to be king.
