Know the moves of all the men, and think of the consequences of each move and think ahead to the next moves.

Keep reciting to yourself the main song from Chess: The Musical, One Night in Bangkok, while you are playing. It brings a deep sense of dharmic calm.

Concentrate on every piece on board. If you see what your opponent is trying to do then try to stop it.

    Cold objectivity.

You play the position as it is, not as you would wish it to be.

To stay focused and stay one step ahead of your opponent. Don't let your emotions show as to what your next move will be. Study how the other player plays chess and try to strategically outmaneuver them by keeping no emotion on your face and then call checkmate when they least expect it.
