Are weight lifting and HIIT sprints the best ways to get back in great physical shape?

If you mean HITT as in high intensity tactical training then yes. Idk what HIIT is. I was in the marine corps and embracing the suck and the fight after the fight are notorious. Wear a weight vest. Add small increments of weights to the vest and run a mile. Time yourself so you see progress. Then 2 miles. Then 3 and so forth. All while adding weight. Because when you don’t wear the weights you’ll beat your time by 2+ minutes. If you can’t finish the run with the weight. Remove a piece of gear. Make a session and do them correctly to the fullest and you will see results guaranteed. The more you push the stronger you get. Pain retains
