When scientists can't solve a problem should they do more research or should they give up and say God did it?

That's what they do in Creationism...
Which is why Creationism, as a discipline, has given mankind NOTHING NEW and NO NEW DISCOVERIES ever since Creationism was established.
What a record -- what an accomplishment!!

Obviously they should dome research. However, there are some questions they cannot answer, like the origin of the universe, because science is restricted to natural explanations for observed realities, and the cause of the origin of the universe was supernatural.

Well, for sure, they shouldn't just make stuff up and say it's factual. Oh, but wait, then they might lose their job.

The expansion of the universe is accelerating, pard. Rather than theorizing dark energy and dark matter, some day they should just give up and admit that God is adding energy to the universe.

I have a similar question.
When scientists can't solve a problem should they do more research or should they give up and say evolution did it?

Science's job is to figure out how God did it. They should do more research.

It depends on how many people have to die in order to 'fund' the research. They probably shouldn't have been doing whatever it was in the first place, since genuine knowledge doesn't shift with the changing tides of resource allocation, invite 'problems' caused by poor and disjointed 'new' understandings and foolish definitions, or require any ongoing 'price of Progress.'
They would know that if they stayed in theist school where ACTUAL science was born. Atheistic science is just its highly self-destructive, needlessly wasteful, flash-in-the-pan autistic twin who has been piggybacking on the theist base of knowledge and whose time is almost up anyway.
"The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good." (Psalm 14:1).

No scientist would ever say that God did it because that's not how science works. So the obvious answer is that they will do more research.Source(s): Agnostic

"Does it mean, if you don’t understand something, and the community of physicists don’t understand it, that means God did it? Is that how you want to play this game? Because if it is, here’s a list of things in the past that the physicists at the time didn't understand [and now we do understand.] If that’s how you want to invoke your evidence for God, then God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that’s getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time moves on - so just be ready for that to happen, if that’s how you want to come at the problem." Neil deGrasse Tyson
“What do you think science is? There's nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. Which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?” Steven Novella

Science is a method that is used to determine if an answer given is in fact correct. Therefore, they would continue the research.
