    It is forbidden in Islam

    and in certain majority-Muslim countries.

The reason it is forbidden in Islam

is because ANY depiction of ANY human or animal is forbidden in Islam

on the grounds that such depictions are idols.

You'll find in classical (style) Islamic art

    that

    of living things

    only vegetation is depicted.

Geometric patters are also very prominent in that style of art.

because the criticism of Mohammed or Islam is a death sentence by whats written in the Koran. but dont believe it, its also thought to be blasphemy against the messenger of Allah. aiui. the united states and the united nations should never be usurped by any anit-blasphemy laws that Muslims invent and then abuse the allegations with. especially Yahoo and Face book. social media where religion and the first amendment should never be usurped by any muslim or any nation of Islam. Christianity even at the level of pagans and gentiles is still a people that believe in the bible for their religion and Jesus (even as a prophet) taught the words of God that blasphemy against the "son" and against the "father" Creator-God, are forgivable.

It shouldn't be, because it wouldn't matter. Muhammad was just a prophet in Islam. He is no God, nor a deity, nor even a saint for that matter. He is but a human, and the law is clear that no DIRECT image of God is to be created. No one has truly seen His face, for He is spirit. All that we have (as Christians) are only icons as indicators to people of faith. These include the saints, Virgin Mary (also a saint), and Jesus. Yes, we consider Jesus to be God, but we only have an icon of His Human form, but not Himself in spirit. Second, even in these cases, we do not idolize these icons. A cross won't save you. A picture of Jesus won't save you. All that they are is to help us focus on our prayer with the one and only God.

The reasoning behind it is to prevent him from becoming an iconified and used for idolatry, to prevent what has happened in Christianity with Jesus Christ and the myriad depictions of him in icons, people even kneeling before statues of him on the cross, apparently worshiping that image or icon and losing site of the actuality of who he was and his teachings.

And one more thing: Although Jesus is God, only His human form was depicted, along with the cross on which He was... well,... crucified. They are all made to remind the sinner to pray, not to idolize the cross, nor the icons!
