There were a lot of ungodly practices isn Old Testament times, which God, in the Person of Jesus Christ, did away with.

Harsh people, harsh Law. The Lord didn't want gay sex to become popular, and the people in that place and time could be governed only by harshness, motivated through fear and self-interest. We're supposed to resonate to a higher frequency these days, obeying out of duty, faith, and love.

Because sodomy was considered a sin back then. Not so much now. "Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error."

    Source(s): Romans 1:27

God dealt harshly with the barbaric house of Israel who had come out of hundreds of years of slavery to the Egyptians. He gave them the temporary law of Moses which was a strict law that included hard and fast rules designed to help them accept the higher law of love that Christ would later administer to them.

In God's eyes, any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and women is an abomination. That has never changed. During the law of Moses, God was also harsh on much lesser crimes such as stealing and even disobeying parents.

Because it is a poorly-edited cult book.  Those edits were added later.

There is NOTHING in the oldest, original BuyBull texts that even say ONE WORD

about Homosexuality.  It was all added later, and it was poorly done.  Which is why,

when you read the anti-gay crap in places like LEVITICUS, it only mentions gay sex between men.  It says NOTHING about lesbians.  OOOPS!  GOD FORGOT!  LOL!!

indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."
