Why was the Duke of Edinburgh so indiscreet about an aspect of his marriage?
After the marriage of Prince Philip and Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II), the prince remarked to others about his wife " . . . she was all over me!"
The listeners were aghast that the duke choose to reveal such an intimate aspect of his marriage to other people.

That is a factual story, the people he told, were fellow Naval officers, who didn't like the way that he was bragging about such intimacies, they cold shouldered him at the time, making it perfectly clear to him, that such talk was not welcome in the officers mess or any other place.

The explanation is simple: Sir Prince Philip is not a very nice man.

Did he really say this? I doubt it.
Philip has close friends to whom he writes and speaks, and confidences are not meant to be shared.

That comment didn't have to be 'intimate'. It could just have been because she was besotted with him. Who knows - who CARES!!

Did anyone have an attack of the vapors whilst being aghast?

Sounds like hearsay, and I doubt there is any truth in it.
