x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0

Write down all the multiples of '6' , they are 1,6 ; 2,3.

Look for a pair of numbers that add to '5' , they are 2,3.

Hence

(x + 2)(x + 3) = 0

Then

x + 2 = 0

x = -2

or

x + 3 = 0

x = -3

So the two solutions are -2, & -3.
