Does Medicare cover cataract surgery ?

    It depends on what type of Medicare coverage you have.  Part A only covers expenses if you have a hospital stay, which most people do not need for cataract surgery.   If you chose to get Part B, It covers 80% of the costs of a standard lens.  If you need corrections for astigmatism or some other special type of lens, you would need to pay for the difference compared to a standard lens.

    Some of it. You will probably have a co-pay. I know I did, but it's been so long ago I can't remember how much.
