Isit possible for the prison system to extend your parole time without you violating your parole?

A friend of mine served 85% of a 12 year sentence (I.e 10 years)  with a mandatory release date of 2020.(on the prison release paper ) My friend got released in 2018. After checking with the PO to confirm release date , the file said 2021. Does parole mean longer time in the system ?

    Yes, they can.

Keep in mind, parole time is NOT counted towards acual sentence time. Parole is a suspension of the sentence, and can be extended as much as they like. And if the terms of parole are breached, the person goes back to prison to resume the rest of their sentence from the time it was suspended.
