Is doxycycline good for ear infections ?

    It depends on the kind of "ear infection" it is. I wouldn't be able to tell you by guessing.  I always recommend Amoxicillin for general type of infection in the outer/inner ear.

    That depends on the specific pathogen that's causing the infection. Think of doxycyline as kryptonite. If your ear infection is Superman, it will kill him. If your ear infection is someone else, it will not.

    Depends on what the ear is infected with. 

    Not all ear infections are bacterial, and not all bacteria are sensitive to the same antibiotic.
