I am concerned about the Coronavirus. Is there a cure for viruses?

There is really no "cure" for a virus. The coronavirus is cured the same way that you cure any other virus or the flu: With bed rest, plenty of fluids, and maybe some OTC medication.

No, there is no cure for viruses. That's why vaccines were developed -- so that exposure to a weakened form of the virus can trigger our body's immune system to make antibodies against the disease. So all you can do is treat the symptoms of the disease and let your body fight the virus the best it can. Corona viruses are very common, but this particular version is more virulent and is causing a higher percentage of deaths (about 3%) than is normal.

Like 6 people have died from it. That's nothing. More people die from flu every single day, in the US.
They're just trying to scare you.

No. They are working on a vaccine. As with all viruses, wash hands several times throughout the day. Be vigilant around others. Use sanitizer after looking at menus in restaurants. Don’t touch your face with your fingers. Wipe the handles of grocery carts. If it begins to spread, wear a face mask when going out in public. There are lots of things that one can do to prevent spread of viruses/illnesses. We all should be doing these all the time.

Viruses are self-limiting. I see at least one case of corona virus in the ICU here in Houston each month. It is just a virus. Not a big deal.
