Question about Australian Open?

Why do they have the roof on and the floodlights on the Rod Laver arena at the moment even though it's the middle of the day? Is it because it's too hot or something?

It's actually all the smoke from the fires in Australia. It was causing breathing problems for the players and the crowds.

Heat is often a problem for this tournament. The roof blocks the sun, as well as the rain.

  • Sporadic rains, play was suspended on the outside courts. The “air situation” in Melbourne has been better in the last few days.

Are you sure it's the middle of the day because all too often, these matches are being played well into the night!
