What is the Cobalt content (in mg per litre) of a bacterial growth medium that contains 1 ml per 500 mL of a stock 5% (w/v) solution of CoCl2.6H2O?

    1 L would have 2 mL of 5% solution = 2 mL * 0.05 g/mL = 0.1 g = 100 mg CoCl2.6H2O

    You then have to adjust for the difference between Co and CoCl2.6H2O

    100 mg CoCl2.6H2O * 58.93 g/mole Co / 237.95 g/(mole CoCl2.6H2O) = 24.7 mg Co/L
