How does the narcotics team handle situations like this ?

Someone reports you for receiving cocaine through a girl who brings it over and she gets it from the seller .

Is this illegal ? If you aren’t directly buying it from the seller only engaging in the activity ?

If someone reported this to the narcotics team and this person had the names of the guy accepting it at his residence and the girl supplying it , how would this be investigated and what would happen ?

This is in Washington state.

You are still in possession of an illegal narcotic.

    Of course, it is.

It’s illegal to have it in your possession.  Doesn’t matter if you plan to use it yourself, give it to someone, selling it to someone, using it for an experiment.

How many years on average regardless of state could someone get with if it’s in their home ? How is it even investigated would police have to have a warrant to search for drugs ? What if the drugs are not there at the moment ? Does the team continue to investigate the person for sometime ?
