is solvent added to concentrate?

When diluting concentrated reagents such as concentrated sulfuric acid:

A. add the concentrate to the solvent

B. add the solvent to the concentrate

I am not exactly sure if you would add concentrate to the solvent or solvent to the concentrate? Can someone explain.

When dealing with concentrated sulphuric acid you always add the acid to the solvent(water) slowly. So the answer is 'A'.

If you do ith the other way round , dding water to the concentrated acid, the acid is liable to spit caused by the heat of solution.

    A. add the concentrate to the solvent

When a concentrated acid is mixed with water, a lot of heat can be generated. By adding the acid slowly to water, that heat is more easily dissipated.
