Yes, it's true, and it's also true that he visited the Americas after his resurrection and talked to the people he found -- the "other sheep" that were not of his fold in Palestine.

No if he were born here, he would have missed the Semitic background that gave rise to the Christian worldview.

Then how could Scripture be fulfilled?

    Please, just stop and think.

If he was born in the territory that currently belongs to the USA

he would (of course) have spoken to people in his area.

A human can hardly avoid doing so.

    However

    even in the Roman Empire

where there was a very good system of roads

and during which period (the Bible teaches) he was on a mission as an itinerant preacher

he traveled in a region (very roughly) about 60 miles x 150 miles.

That is: a region about the size of New Jersey.

So: unless he were born very near to the Mexican border

he likely would not have spoken with residents living in the territory of both of those modern nations.

If Christ HAD BEEN born here, yes, he WOULD HAVE talked to the people who were here but no Mexicans since Mexico didn't exist 2000 years ago.

But that scenario wouldn't have made sense.  He was born exactly where he needed to be.
