No, not at all. Anything below 50,000 miles is considered low.

    I'd call it low mileage.

A 5 year old car will not have 0 miles on it if somebody bought it and used it normally. 10K is a good low average to figure with per year and that covers the majority of people that work every day and use the car for that only.

Besides it is easier to do quick mental math.  5 years x 10K=50K

Check other cars that are 2015 on lots.  They write the odometer reading on the price...and you will see that GENERALLY it is AROUND that mileage +/- 10K

.  Anything higher was mainly used as a delivery vehicle or a taxi.  All parts wear out with lots of use. No different than your sneakers.  When there is a lot of miles on them the tread is gone(worn out)

.  Remember that and do the comparison check thing and you know the average miles cars are driven in your area. (all used cars have been driven by someone else in your town.)

If a car is properly maintained, mileage isn't that big of an issue. Most cars are replaced for cosmetic reasons and not mechanical reasons.

However, many lease cars are poorly maintained and if they are putting 15K to 20K miles a year on it, I'd look for something else.

17K miles in four or five years isn't too bad. Just give it two or three look overs to make sure it's sound. You usually find more problems each time you look at a used car. Rarely will you find all of the problems on one physical inspection or one test drive.

Not at all. Figure average annual mileage at 12,000. Your car is almost five years old. 50,000 would be average for this vehicle.

If someone has had it for a month, yes.  5 years?  No.

A typical car will usually be driven 12,000 miles a year! A 2015 is 5 years old, so it should have had nearly 60,000 miles by now. So this car has been driven only roughly as much as a 1.5 year old car has been driven.

My car is nine years old and it JUST turned 30K miles.  Not everyone beats a car, or puts on a lot of miles.

    17,000 is like new yet.

170,000 would be too many unless the car is under $4000.

No, for a car that is five years old that is very low mileage.
