Why do generation x assume that gen y and gen z (me) only grew up with phones and internet?

I was born in 2005 and all we had was flip phones and a box TV and DVDs.

Because they are correct.  The rise of the internet(mass access), only happened after dial up  ended.  that is when gen y became self aware, and as for gen z, they have always had cable internet access.  Mass phone access has only been in place since 2008, but that is a revolution in and of itself.    Its all about the timeline and no Al Gore did not invent the internet.
