Why do most young europeans today prefer american english?

    It is the easiest to understand and most people speak that way around the world. European and Australia english is very hard to understand.

    Before asking 'Why?' please first show us that what you're asking about is actually true.

    I don't know of any studies showing that 'most young Europeans today prefer American English'.

    I would also like to know what you mean by 'prefer'. In what contexts? Reading, speaking, formal, casual? Many people use different kinds of English in different contexts.

    but in many cases, the majority of the English they are exposed to is American TV-series, movies, songs...
