With diabetics, do they have to keep their toenails trimmed at all times?

Yes. Keeping your toenails trimmed and your feet well hydrated to prevent the skin from rupturing is part of the self care of a diabetic.Source(s): I'm a RD

It's a good idea for everyone to do this.
Diabetics really need to watch their diet and lose the sugars and grains.

Most people should keep their toenails trimmed, diabetic or not.

Apparently so - the diabetes can cause poor blood flow, and toe nails are capable of becoming easily infected. Infection mixed with poor flow can lead to a loss of toes or in some cases the foot.
