Popcorn ceiling?

Can asbestos spill out of the old popcorn ceiling? There are about five nail holes. The house was built in 1973.

I am afraid and do not want to breathe at home.

Update:

Occasionally, somewhere is dust coming down on my ornament. Could this be asbestos? Or is this common?

Not likely, but not impossible. You do need to maintain it. See my answer in your duplicate post.

If there is asbestos in the ceiling, it can’t spill out it is part of the mud used to make the popcorn. You’d have to scrape the ceiling and make dust during removal. Have it tested if you are concerned.
