If a working and fully functional King Tiger tank from WW2 (with no need of repairs or modications) were sent in the modern battlefield?

.....how would it perform?

The Abrams tank can fire on the move with a laser guided gun control. It has a max speed of about 45 mph, cruising range of 265 miles. It is 8 foot high.

The King Tiger had a top speed of 25.8 mph and a manual range finding system. While able to fire while moving the turret was not stabilized. Laser guided systems were un-known. It also stood over ten feet tall. 110 mile operating range.

Between the taller silhouette, slower speed it would be a sitting duck. The 120 mm with armor piercing rounds would take care of the armor plating of the Tiger.

Before the Tiger could get into firing range it would be history. Even if it got into firing range the modern tank would score a hit before the crew of the Tiger found the range.

wonder why people have concentrated on tank vs tank

there are many other modern ways of destroying a tiger tank

    RPG

    missile

    laser guided bomb

even a howitzer from a couple of miles away

If it was taking on a modern tank it would perform for about 2 minutes before being destroyed.

About as effectively as any 70+-year-old car would perform in a race against a 2020 Ford GT.  To say it would get "smoked" is a profound understatement.

It wouldn't last five minutes in a firefight with a modern tank.

Do you know what General Abrams said at the battle of Bastogne?  " Now the enemy has us completely surrounded, the poor bastards!"

Very poorly. It's power to weight ratio is grossly lower than any modern tank. It's fire control system is not remotely able to keep up with a modern system.

The 88 MM gun is good, but also is no match for the range and penetration of a modern tank gun.
