Is it possible to discern between an American and Canadian accent on this forum?

    Yes. If they spell "house"as "huuse" you know they are Canadian.

    Canadian accents are most definitely different from American, but the differences are in very subtle vowel changes. It is a misconception that Canadians pronounce "about" as "aboot." Canadians say this word as a British person would say the nonsense word "aboat.". I met a cansdian doctor and I can actually differentiate. It took me some time to understand his accent because it's my first time meeting him in person.

    Only if the Canadian uses British English spellings such as colour or honour instead of color or honor.
