Can cleaners wear heels?

I wore some heels, short heels to my job and at first my supervisor said it's okay for me to wear them and a few weeks later she changed her mind for some reason.

Nothing happened, I didn't trip over or anything. So I don't know why she changed her mind...?

It's a safety hazard. You should be wearing flat, non-slip shoes.

Doesn't make much sense, would make it easier to slip on a wet floor for example.

Your employer may have slip-and-fall safety policies that your supervisor didn't immediately remember.  Once she looked up the policy, she realized it wasn't OK.

It's quite common for employers to have such policies - particularly if there's a possibility for wet floors.

Strippers in "French Maid" COSTUMES do.
      Actual maids don't.
