Is it disrespectful to call someone “my good man”?

I have a friend and every time we talk every sentence he adds “my good man” to it is this disrespectful? Some of my other friends say it is some say nothing is wrong with it.

    Perhaps he's  only recently met the expression and finds it amusing. He'll get bored with it in a while.

    No, but it's somewhat condescending and it's DEFINITELY pretentious.  It's not the sort of locution that is used in normal speech in this day and age, so he's making himself look rather silly and affected.

      It's not really a term of endearment.  It would once have been considered polite but also condescending. Today, it's pretentious and affected.

    He's exploring an affectation. It's unlikely it is meant to be disrespectful but it's very pretentious.

    I think it's his attempt to be funny which it is not. Just tell him if he doesn't stop, you are done with him as a friend.
