Is 50 mg of zoloft considered a low dose?

I take a medicine at 1 mg. So this is low. 50 mg may not be high as compared to other doses but wondering if its high without comparing considering its all the way up to 50, large compared to say 1 mg

    Your question doesn't make sense.

Are you saying you take 1 mg and zoloft and wonder if 50 is high - the answer is yes, since its 50 times your normal amount.

Or are you saying you take 1 mg of some other drug and wonder if 50 mg of zoloft is high - without knowing the other drug there is no way to know.

50 mg of one drug is a lot while its a small amount of something else.

You can't compare the doses of different medications like that. I take 0.125mg of levothyroxine and also 1000mg tylenol. Both are therapeutic doses but one is 8000 times the mass of the other.

The therapeutic dose of zoloft is anywhere from 50-200mg a day so although 50mg is a relatively low dose it's a high enough dose for some people. If it's working for you that's great, if it's not after 4-6 weeks ask your prescribing doctor about increasing it.
